I hear there's some big football game tonight. I don't know, have you guys heard anything about this?
All kidding aside, I'll be turning ESPN on at about 8:37 p.m., and not a minute earlier, so as to avoid the HYPE (there's so much, it uses capital letters) that will be spewing out incessantly all day long. Here's hoping that I won't have to mute the TV when Official Cheerleader of Monday Night Football Jon Gruden is canonizing Brett Favre.
Short post today, as I don't want to get too heavily into the HYPE machine myself. I'll have more thoughts and analysis tomorrow, which will be the beginning of the 27-day countdown until Brett Favre goes to Green Bay to play the Packers at Lambeau. Then we can all relax.

Do you live in Minnesota? I'll be trying to listen to the game on local AM radio while watching a muted TV, but I've never tried that before and don't know if there are synchronization issues. I remember being unable to do the TV + AM thing in Colorado with the Broncos, and I seem to remember some markets are synched while others are not. There's even a product one can purchase to put the radio or tv (whatever's ahead) on a delay so that they match up. I suppose TIVO could work for that.
Anyhow, any advice? I like Jaws but Gruden's gonna kill me if I have to listen to the ESPN coverage.
No, I'm in North Carolina. And, truthfully, I don't typically like listening to home-town broadcasters for football, even when they're supporting my team. They get just a little too crazy for me. Baseball, hockey, sure, I'll listen to local broadcasts for them, but I just have issues with football guys.
